Back To December

2 DEC - 4 DEC 2016 /

I don't understand why I've never gotten around to sorting and editing my Penang pictures and videos only until now (it was like the only trip I went on last year), but here's a photo diary of our sightings of various murals (spot this pop of pink plastic bag which always find its way into my photos even tho I put a considerable distance between it and myself) We had an early dinner at Gurney Drive Hawker Centre after checking into our hotel (欣怡要熏死了), after which we caught a movie at Gurney Plaza (right beside the hawkers) ANDDD it was in this mall I bought my Song Joong Ki cushion and shirt hahahaha THE OBSESSION HAD BEEN REAL

Apart from the murals, the doors and floor tiles in Penang are total works of art (signs of colonial influence) Even their laundromats make for good photo op! A trip to the Chocolate and Coffee Museum surprised us both with this Forrest Gump quote (since we two caught the screening at Films at the Fort a few months ago) - "Life is like a box of chocolate; you never know what you're gonna get." I don't really think much of this quote (since choco boxes tell you explicitly at the back each flavour you can expect) but since it's Forrest Gump, then the quote's good hahaha

And who knows drinking gin and running marathon is a thing ????? We met a group of some members of I-forgot-the-name-of-the-organization who did exactly that and the best part was, they treated us to some gin - three small cups right out of a dispenser at the side of some road! Omg three small cups were enough to make me seh for three seconds, maybe coz we drank on empty stomachs BUT ZOMG GIN RUNS IN THEIR BLOOD IZZIT
^ one of Penang's everyday happenings along its streets, I even saw this guy clad in Santa Claus costume (not surprising, it was december) looking on at a lion dance performance Idk I just got amused by the incongruity of it all but maybe somehow in Penang, it makes sense

So, to settle those empty stomachs we had dinner at ChinaHouse (where we kinda unleashed our inner artist by doodling on their mahjong papers which acted as placemats using broken crayons they provided) And I don't think I ever miss the chance to go sing k whenever I find myself in Msia lol it's like a need, a must (but maybe that's only me) - Red Box @ 1st Avenue Mall (: And omg I got food poisoning my second night there (diarrhoea, vomit, sleep, diarrhoea, vomit, sleep, diarrhoea, vomit, sleeeep in that sequence throughout the night) LIKE I REALLY JUST WANNA SLEEP EVEN THO I WAS FEELING LIKE DEATH the fever and body aches that came on the next day meant Penang Hill didn't exactly look that surmountable ..... In spite of everything, I (still) remembered to apply for medical leave that Sunday night before taking the flight back home lol

^ the got-fever-and-body-aches-but-still-wanna-selfie selfies
(still can draw my brows tho, was I even THAT sick)
(YES I WAS)

To the friend who had gone on travel trips to Sydney, Seoul, and now Penang together with me, cheers to more trips in the future!! ;D (we can do with a few more cups of that gin right now)

xx
